“Twilight” saga star Kristen Stewart is teaming up with a 2026 Best Actor Oscar nominee in a film subgenre that made her a global star.
Stewart, of course, starred opposite Robert Pattinson in five Twilight movies, based on the worldwide best-selling vampire romance novels by Stephanie Meyer, from 2008 to 2012.
While Stewart was already known for her roles in such films as director David Fincher’s Panic Room opposite Jodie Foster in 2002 and director Jon Favreau’s Zathura: A Space Adventure in 2008, her role as Bella Swan in the Twilight movies took her career to new heights.
Since the release of the final film in the supernatural romance series — The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 — in 2012 (where Stewart topped Forbes’ list of highest paid actresses), the star left vampire movies in the rearview mirror in favor of roles in a variety of other genres, including the drama Still Alice, the crime comedy American Ultra and the action thriller Charlie’s Angels.
Stewart also took on playing a real-life historical figure in the Princess Diana biopic Spencer, which earned the film star an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in 2022.

‘Flesh Of The Gods’ Is In Production In Spain
Now, 14 years after the curtains closed on Twilight, Stewart has begun work on the vampire thriller Flesh of the Gods, where she’ll star opposite The Secret Agent Best Actor Oscar nominee Wagner Moura. According to Deadline, the film has started production in the Canary Islands in Spain and will also shoot in Cologne, Germany.
In Flesh of the Gods, Stewart and Moura play Alex and Raoul, “a married couple in glittering ’80s L.A.,” per the film’s official description (via Deadline). While consuming the city’s nightlife, “Alex and Raoul are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills and violence” by an enigmatic woman named Nameless and her band of partiers, the description also notes.
Prominent indie studio A24 has acquired and is distributing Flesh of the Gods, which also stars Esmé Creed-Miles, Roland Møller and Alba Baptista. The film is directed by Panos Cosmatos, the filmmaker behind Nicolas Cage’s 2018 folk-horror thriller Mandy.
Stewart will next star in the comedy-drama Full Phil, where a father (Woody Harrelson) and his daughter (Stewart) go on a trip to Paris together in a bid to settle their differences with one another. Full Phil will hold its world premiere on Sunday at the 2026 Cannes International Film Festival in the South of France.
