Lady Gaga has been one of the brightest stars in the music industry for coming up on two decades now. She first broke into mainstream consciousness with her debut full-length The Fame, which changed the sound of pop music and introduced a new powerhouse to the industry.
Even as she continues to promote her most recent project Mayhem – racking up multiple Grammy nominations and proving once again that few in the world can do it like she does – fans are still consuming The Fame in large numbers more than 15 years after its release. The Fame debuts on one Billboard chart this week, giving Gaga only her second career win on a tally.
The Fame Debuts on a Billboard Chart
On this week’s Top Streaming Albums chart, a ranking that looks only at the most successful projects on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others throughout the United States, The Fame appears for the very first time. Gaga’s first studio effort opens at No. 46 on the 50-spot roster.
Lady Gaga’s History on the Top Streaming Albums Chart
Gaga has only placed two of her dozen-plus releases onto the Top Streaming Albums tally, and both of them find space on the list at the moment. Earlier this year, Mayhem became her first set to reach the roster, which was introduced by Billboard just a few years ago, coming along long after some of her most popular studio LPs. Mayhem has now spent 33 weeks somewhere on the ranking, and it quickly gave the singer-songwriter a long-overdue champion. At the moment, Mayhem climbs from No. 43 to No. 37.
The Fame Lives on a Trio of Billboard Lists
Just like Mayhem, The Fame can be found on a trio of Billboard rankings. At the moment, the set lives highest on the Top Dance Albums chart, improving one space to No. 3. At the same time on the Billboard 200 — where it topped out in the runner-up space, becoming a huge win for the brand new star but also a rare miss for her — The Fame pushes more than 10 spaces north, leaping from No. 68 to No. 54.
“Just Dance” and “Poker Face” Remain Charting Hits
Two of the most famous singles from The Fame — the first two, in fact — are present on a handful of Billboard tallies. “Just Dance,” a collaboration with Colby O’Donis that served as Gaga’s breakout smash, reappears at No. 192 on the Billboard Global 200 and holds just outside the highest tier on the Dance Streaming Songs chart.

“Poker Face,” the second cut pushed from the project, improves its standing on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. as well.
Mayhem Continues to Chart Alongside The Fame
Mayhem can be found on the same three rankings as The Fame, and amazingly, despite the fact that it was released only a few months ago, it is only performing marginally better than Gaga’s first full-length.
This week, Mayhem sits just outside the top 40 on the Billboard 200, landing at No. 42, and it is one rung down from its peak on the Top Dance Albums list, where it sits just in front of The Fame.
Gaga’s Born This Way, her second complete album, can only be located on the Top Dance Albums chart. Gaga fills three spaces inside the top 10 on that tally at the moment, as Born This Way glides from No. 12 to No. 8.
Lady Gaga’s “The Dead Dance” and “Die with a Smile” Hold On
Of the five singles by Gaga that appear on any Billboard tally, two come from The Fame and three are present on Mayhem. Singles “Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars and “Abracadabra” are present on multiple tallies. Meanwhile, the focus is on “The Dead Dance.” Gaga dropped the spooky tune only a few months back to coincide with her role in Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. The track experiences something of a boost thanks to the Halloween holiday, as it reaches a new all-time peak on both the Pop Airplay and Radio Songs charts, improving to Nos. 11 and 27, respectively. “The Dead Dance” also rises on several other rosters as consumption of the thematically-relevant cut grows.
