Mercedes-Benz is recalling over 310,000 cars, according to filings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Thursday, due to an issue that could cause a micro-switch in their door locks to corrode—which could potentially cause the vehicles to fail to detect open doors, and make the parking brake and “Auto-Park” features stop functioning automatically.

Mercedes is recalling a total of 310,667 vehicles with model years between 2019 through 2026, which could have the corrosion issue in their driver’s side doors.
If the parking brake fails, it could cause vehicles to roll away—however, Mercedes is unaware of any cases of this happening so far, according to an earlier recall report.
Owners of impacted vehicles can take their vehicles to a dealer to install a free replacement door lock, according to the NHTSA’s notice.
Which Cars Are Impacted?
The door lock issue extends to multiple Mercedes model lines, according to the NHTSA’s notice. These include some Mercedes A-class and C-class sedans, GLC SUVs and CLE coupes. A full list of impacted models and years is available on the NHTSA’s notice, and owners can also search their VIN or license plate number on the administration’s database.

Mercedes has issued multiple recalls so far in 2026. In February, the luxury German automaker recalled over 11,000 electric vehicles over a high voltage battery issue. Mercedes also issued a warning for owners to park impacted cars outside, as the battery issue could cause fires in both moving and parked vehicles. In May, Mercedes recalled another 144,000 vehicles over an issue with their instrument display panels. This issue was fixed by installing a software update.
