New York is on the cusp of Summer Restaurant Week, and with that celebration of local eateries, come several new recommendations from an esteemed source.

On July 15, the Michelin Guide announced fifteen new additions to its New York guide. Three new restaurants in Brooklyn, nine new restaurants in Manhattan, and three new restaurants in Queens are included. These restaurants will all be eligible to earn Bib Gourmands, Michelin Stars and additional accolades during the annual ceremony in November.

In April, Michelin added nine new restaurants to its New York guide. The selections ranged from a Brooklyn burrito joint, to a cozy bistro in the West Village, and a chef’s counter in Hell’s Kitchen.

Here’s what’s new to the New York Michelin Guide this summer:

New York Michelin Guide Additions

All three Brooklyn restaurants added to the Michelin guide are near the waterfront.

Williamsburg’s Balera, known for thin pizzas to enjoy along with music from vinyl records, all under a shimmering disco ball, is the only new pizzeria on the list.

In Greenpoint, Arthur, a French bistro focusing on Northeaster sourced ingredients has also made the list. Formerly the home to the chef incubator Fulgurances Laundromat, Arthur is now run by chef Kevin Finch and co-owner Alec Finch.

Recently relocated from Industry City to Brooklyn Heights, Brendan Kelley and Daniel Grossman’s Confidant also made the new Michelin guide. The playful restaurant is known for dry-aged fish and meats, housemade pastas, and fun details.

Queens also had three restaurants on the list, including Astoria’s long-running seafood joint AbuQir, known to be a preferred dining spot for former Astoria resident and current New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Two more established businesses made the list for Queens: Bolivian Llama Party in Sunnyside and Pierogi Boys in Ridgewood, both vendors at food halls and markets around the city before opening brick-and-mortar eateries.

Manhattan has new Michelin recognized restaurants across the borough.

On the Upper East Side, two newcomers made the list. Housed inside the Marcel Breuer building (formerly home to the Whitney Museum before its move to the Meatpacking District), Marcel at Sotheby’s is known as the elegant Uptown counterpart to SoHo’s La Mercerie from Chef Marie-Aude Rose and the Roman and Williams team. Nearby, on the 37th floor of the historic GM building, Yugin, a 12-seat chef’s counter by Chef Eugeniu Zubco earned attention for composed seasonal dishes and sushi.

Murray Hill also hosts two new Michelin guide spots: Kjun, Chef Jae Jung’s Korean and Cajun fusion restaurant and Oyatte, Chef Hasung Lee’s first restaurant focusing on farm-sourced fine dining.

In the ever-trendy West Village, the Cherry Lane Theater’s Wild Cherry is now recommended for its trendy French fare including steak tartare, croque monsieur and fried frog legs with garlic butter. Cynthia, a 30-seat fine dining restaurant by recent Top Chef finalist Sherry Cardoso and local entrepreneur
Claire DuBois, serves a blend of French, Asian, and Latin food that caught Michelin inspectors’ attention.

Further east, the Lower East Side’s buzzy and busy Bistrot Ha, a Vietnamese-inspired bistro from Chefs Sadie Mae Burns and Anthony Ha, is now Michelin recognized, as is Odo East Village, a cozy izakaya serving light starters and sashimi, grilled fish, wagyu, and more Japanese food,

Rounding out the list in Flatiron is LenLen, a Thai restaurant inspired by 1970s Bangkok, serving modern Thai fare and high end cocktails until 1 a.m. nightly.
