Enola Holmes 3, starring Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge and Henry Cavill, premieres on Netflix on Wednesday and is winning over most Rotten Tomatoes critics.

Brown, of course, reprises the title character in Enola Holmes 3, which follows the Netflix hits Enola Holmes in 2020 and Enola Holmes 2 in 2022. Directed by Adolescence Emmy winner Philip Barantini, the new film finds Enola (Brown) postponing her trip to the altar to marry Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) so she can head to the island of Malta to find her older brother, Sherlock (Cavill), after he’s been kidnapped.

What Are Individual Critics Saying About ‘Enola Holmes 3’

Julian Roman of MovieWeb is among the critics on RT who gives Enola Holmes 3 a “fresh” score. Roman writes in his RT review summary, “Millie Bobby Brown is no longer a plucky adolescent detective in this darker, more sophisticated third entry loaded with violent twists and mature themes. Fans will be delighted in a rousing mystery with surprising depth.”

Alan French of FandomWire also gives the film a “fresh” critic score, writing on RT, “Using the same style and wit as the previous entries, Enola Holmes continues to be one of Netflix’s few good franchises.”

On the flip side, William Bibbiani of The Wrap gives Enola Holmes 3 a “rotten” score. Bibbiani writes on RT, “Enola Holmes 3 lacks the energy, the heft and the personality that made her previous adventures so satisfying.”

Ema Sasic of Next Best Picture also gives Enola Holmes 3 a “rotten” score, writing on RT, “This film is plagued with so many flashbacks, often scenes that we just saw or references to previous movies, that it’s sometimes hard to concentrate on the actual story at hand.”

Rated PG-13, Enola Holmes 3 premieres on Netflix on Wednesday.
