The most watched film in Netflix history is coming to a stage (hopefully) near you. Netflix and AEG Presents announced that a KPop Demon Hunters global concert tour is coming, promising to bring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning animated film to life as a live arena experience. Cities, dates, and ticket details have not yet been confirmed, but fans can sign up to a waitlist now to be notified when that information drops.

What Is The KPop Demon Hunters Concert Tour

Per the official Netflix announcement, the tour is described as a live experience that will translate the world of the film, specifically the sold-out HUNTR/X concerts that serve as a recurring plot device, into a real-world arena setting. “There’s a reason so many of the most electrifying moments in KPop Demon Hunters happen during HUNTR/X’s sold-out concerts — only a crowd that loud and united can generate enough Honmoon love to hold the demon realm at bay,” said the press release The announcement does not specify which performers will appear, whether the HUNTR/X singing voices comprising Oscar-winner EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, will headline, or what format the show will take. That information is still to come.

Why This Tour Is A Bigger Deal Than It Sounds

To understand the scale of what Netflix and AEG Presents are working with, it helps to have the film’s numbers in front of you. KPop Demon Hunters premiered on Netflix in June 2025 and has accumulated more than 325.1 million views, making it Netflix’s most popular English-language film ever. It completed 15 consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Top 10, which is the longest any title has remained on the English-language film chart. Critics gave it a 95% certified fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, while audience scores reached 99%.

Its awards trajectory matched those numbers. The film won Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at the 2026 Oscars, making “Golden” the first K-pop song to win an Academy Award. It also took home two Golden Globes and made history at the Grammys with the first K-pop win at that ceremony. The soundtrack spent several weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, and “Golden” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Director Maggie Kang, who spent seven years developing the film before its release, accepted the Best Animated Feature Oscar in tears, saying: “For those of you who look like me, I’m so sorry that it took us so long to see us in a movie like this. This is for Korea and for Koreans everywhere.”

EJAE, accepting the Best Original Song award for “Golden,” told the audience, “Growing up, people made fun of me for liking K-pop, but now everyone’s singing our song, and all the Korean lyrics. I realised that the song and this award are not about success. They’re about resilience.”

What Is KPop Demon Hunters About

For the three people who are somehow still out of the know, KPop Demon Hunters is a Sony Pictures Animation production directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. It chronicles the adventures of Huntrix, a K-pop girl group whose three members lead double lives as demon hunters, facing off against a rival boy band, the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons. The speaking voices of the three leads are provided by Arden Cho as Rumi, May Hong as Mira, and Ji-young Yoo as Zoey.

EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami provide their singing voices respectively. The supporting cast includes Ahn Hyo-seop, Yunjin Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun. Songs were written by TEDDY, EJAE, Jenna Andrews, and others, with the score composed by Marcelo Zarvos. The soundtrack also features “Takedown” performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE.

A sequel is in development, with Kang and Appelhans confirmed to return to write and direct. There are also multiple toys and merchandise available for diehard fans and more.
