I Want Your Sex, an indie erotic comedy thriller starring Olivia Wilde, Cooper Hoffman, Charli xcx and Chase Sui Wonders, debuts on digital streaming this week after a limited run in North American theaters.
Directed by Gregg Akari (Mysterious Skin), I Want Your Sex opened in theaters on July 31. Hoffman (Licorice Pizza, Saturday Night) plays Elliot, an affable man in his 20s whose fantasies come through when he lands a job with renowned artist Erika Tracy (Wilde).
A charismatic provocateur, Erika ignores the standard rules of an office setting and turns Elliot into her sexual muse and subordinate, where the job takes a shocking turn involving sex, naturally, but also obsession, power, betrayal and murder.
I Want Your Sex premiered in 705 theaters domestically, earning nearly $635,000 in its opening weekend frame from July 31 to Aug. 2. The film wrapped up its domestic run on Aug. 23 with $1.466 million in ticket sales. I Want Your Sex has also earned more than $459,000 in international ticket sales to date and an expansion into more overseas markets is underway.

I Want Your Sex marks the second film Wilde has starred in this summer, following the critically acclaimed indie comedy-drama hit The Invite — which she also directed — that was released in theaters in June before pivoting to digital streaming in early August.
“These movies feel like sisters, but they’re also the opposite sides of my personality,” Wilde told E! News at the I Want Your Sex red carpet premiere on July 29. “But I feel very lucky to be a part of two films, that are independent films, that are comedies, that are coming out in theaters. Like, that is major.”

‘I Want Your Sex’ Arrives On PVOD On Tuesday
I Want Your Sex will make its debut on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, Sept. 1, a new listing on Prime Video confirms.
In addition to Prime Video, I Want Your Sex will be available for purchase for $24.99 on other digital platforms, including Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube Movies & TV. Since digital rentals typically cost $5 less than purchase prices, viewers can expect to rent I Want Your Sex for 48 hours for $19.99.
I Want Your Sex was greeted with a warm reception by Rotten Tomatoes’ critics, who collectively awarded the film a 91% “fresh” rating on the site’s Tomatometer based on 160 reviews. The film’s audience score on RT was significantly lower, however, as it earned a 65% “fresh” Popcornmeter score based on 100-plus verified user ratings.
Rated R, I Want Your Sex also stars Daveed Diggs, Mason Gooding, Margaret Cho and Johnny Knoxville.
