Post Malone’s First Country Smash Ties His Biggest Pop Hit

By the time Post Malone released his single “Circles,” he was already one of the biggest names in the American music industry. He first found fame in hip-hop, but tracks like “Circles” turned him into a pop star, the type that could be counted on to produce not just big hits, but those that stick around for quite a long time. Attention and radio kept “Circles” going and turned it into one of the sturdiest smashes of the past decade – but even that track can no longer compete with Malone’s first major country win.

“I Had Some Help” Outlasts “Circles”

Malone’s first collaboration with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help,” is still present on Billboard’s Radio Songs chart this week. The tune rises one space to No. 19 as it celebrates 61 frames on the ranking of the biggest hits across all radio stations in the U.S. That number, as it turns out, is a special one for Malone.

As “I Had Some Help” keeps on the Radio Songs ranking once again, it breaks out of its tie with “Circles” as Malone’s longest-running success on the tally. “Circles” spent 60 weeks as one of the most played tracks on American radio, and now “I Had Some Help” is up to 61 turns on the same list.

“Circles” Still Wins When it Comes to No. 1

While “I Had Some Help” has just passed “Circles” in terms of longevity, the latter remains the longer-running champion when it comes to running the show. “Circles” ruled the Radio Songs chart for 11 weeks, while “I Had Some Help” managed only about half as long of a stay, with five stints atop the tally.

Post Malone and Morgan Wallen Rise at Country Radio

Malone and Wallen have produced two huge hits together, as “I Ain’t Coming Back,” which is featured on Wallen’s latest album I’m the Problem, followed “I Had Some Help” by about a year.

While that track doesn’t appear on the Radio Songs chart at the moment — even though it’s much newer than “I Had Some Help” — it does climb to No. 34 on the Country Airplay list. Previously, the pair’s second duet peaked at No. 30 during its 11-week run on the ranking of the most successful tracks at country radio, and it could return to that peak position sometime soon.
