Robert Plant Hits New Solo Career Peaks For The Second Week In A Row

Last week, Robert Plant scored a new bestselling project in the United Kingdom. The former Led Zeppelin frontman delivered Saving Grace – All That Glitters, one of dozens of titles connected to Record Store Day. The set, which is actually an EP but which ranks on several songs tallies in the U.K. based on how short it runs, became a quick bestseller.

Many Record Store Day offerings have completely disappeared from the charts in the U.K., but not Saving Grace – All That Glitters. In its second turn on various tallies, the short album declines on one list while climbing to new peaks on a number of other rosters.

Robert Plant’s Saving Grace – All That Glitters Climbs Again

On both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts, Saving Grace – All That Glitters pushes north in its second week. Last frame, the project debuted at No. 15, and now it’s up to No. 12 on the vinyl-only rundown and No. 13 on the list of the bestselling songs on any physical format, including CD, cassette, and vinyl.

Robert Plant’s Newest Release Passed “Hurting Kind (I’ve Got My Eyes On You)”

When Saving Grace – All That Glitters launched just days ago, it brought Plant to a new all-time peak on both the Official Physical Singles and Official Vinyl Singles charts. The collection beat the No. 17 high established by “Hurting Kind (I’ve Got My Eyes On You),” which debuted in June 2021. Now, Plant surges even higher and comes as close to scoring a solo top 10 as he ever has.

Led Zeppelin’s “Rock And Roll” Still Leads

When including the music that Led Zeppelin released, Saving Grace – All That Glitters no longer ranks as Plant’s highest-rising win. “Rock And Roll” reached No. 1 on both tallies, while “Trampled Under Foot” climbed to No. 6 on the rosters.

Led Zeppelin has only managed a pair of successes on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, but when it comes to the Official Physical Singles tally, “Whole Lotta Love” has also appeared. That cut brought Led Zeppelin to the physical rundown for the first time nearly 30 years ago, when it debuted in September 1997. The tune lifted as high as No. 21 and spent just two frames on the register before vanishing.

Saving Grace – All That Glitters Falls on the Sales Chart

Saving Grace – All That Glitters appears on three U.K. rankings, but while it climbs to new highs on two-thirds of those charts, it falls dramatically on the third. On the current edition of the Official Singles Sales chart, the most competitive purchase-focused roster in the U.K., Saving Grace – All That Glitters declines from No. 16 to No. 83. The EP easily bested the No. 61 debut and peak that “Hurting Kind (I’ve Got My Eyes On You)” managed in the summer of 2021.

Saving Grace – All That Glitters Stands Out with a Second Week

While Saving Grace – All That Glitters fails to surge to a never-before-seen peak on the sales list, there is reason for it to stand out within Plant’s discography on this one rundown. Saving Grace – All That Glitters is one of only two tracks by Plant to place on the tally, and his first to hold on for more than one stay.

Led Zeppelin’s “Trampled Under Foot” Reached the Top 10

Led Zeppelin has managed only a trio of top performers on the Official Singles Sales chart. Blending Plant’s output and the group’s, Saving Grace – All That Glitters is his second-highest-rising hit. “Trampled Under Foot” rocked its way to No. 10, while “Rock And Roll” and “Immigrant Song” peaked at Nos. 24 and 40, respectively – beneath where Plant’s latest EP/single debuted only a few days ago.
