Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was one of the faces of the United States Covid-19 response, testified before the Senate Homeland Committee at the end of July. He didn’t say much beyond his opening statement, and invoked his Fifth Amendment right over 100 times. Last week, that committee passed a resolution to hold him in contempt of Congress for repeatedly pleading the Fifth—even after receiving a preemptive pardon from then-President Joe Biden. Vincent Bonventre, a constitutional law professor at Albany Law School, joined “Forbes Newsroom” to discuss the contempt resolution and what’s next.
