“Dai Dai” brings Shakira and Burna Boy back to the top 10 on the U.K.’s Official Singles chart, with the Latin superstar earning her first smash in a decade and a half. Shakira may forever be associated with the World Cup. The Colombian superstar has contributed original music to the globally-watched sporting tournament multiple times, and several of her most famous singles emerged from the collaboration.
Years after “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” became a blockbuster, Shakira returned with “Dai Dai,” a collaboration with Burna Boy. The tune has been climbing charts around the world ever since its release weeks ago, and this frame, as the U.K. rankings reflect consumption during the height of World Cup excitement, it reaches new peaks on nearly every list where it appears. Most importantly, “Dai Dai” gives both musicians another top 10 on the country’s main songs roster.
Shakira and Burna Boy Reach the U.K. Singles Chart’s Top 10
“Dai Dai” leaps from No. 13 to No. 5 on the Official Singles chart this time around, breaking into the top 10 for the first time. The ranking measures the most-consumed songs in the U.K. using streams as well as purchases on both digital and physical formats.
The collaboration becomes Shakira’s seventh top 10 hit in the country. She has not entered the competitive region in more than 15 years, and “Dai Dai” is a welcome comeback. The last time she scored a new top 10 on the list was when “She Wolf” climbed to No. 4 back in October 2009.
“Can’t Remember to Forget You,” her duet with Rihanna, came close to ending that drought in 2014. The single stopped at No. 11, missing the highest tier by only one space.

Burna Boy Scores His Fifth U.K. Top 10
Burna Boy is now only one top 10 behind Shakira, and “Dai Dai” marks his fifth appearance inside the region. He most recently reached the highest tier on the tally with “Last Last,” which peaked at No. 4 in May 2022.
The Nigerian musician also cracked the top 10 with “Location,” his collaboration with Dave, and “Be Honest” with Jorja Smith, which rose to Nos. 6 and 8, respectively. Burna Boy’s biggest U.K. hit remains “Own It,” a team-up with Stormzy and Ed Sheeran that spent three weeks at No. 1 beginning in late 2019.
“Dai Dai” Reaches New Peaks on Multiple Charts
“Dai Dai” similarly rises to new highs on the Official Streaming and Official Singles Sales charts, though it was already a top 10 streaming and sales smash before this week. The World Cup anthem pushes from No. 7 to No. 5 on the streaming-only list and from No. 8 to No. 4 on the broader sales tally.
On the Official Singles Downloads chart, the collaboration improves from No. 7 to No. 4. That position matches a peak it established a short time ago.
Shakira’s “Waka Waka” Reaches a New Streaming High
“Dai Dai” is not Shakira’s only World Cup anthem that happens to be growing in popularity in the U.K. at the moment. “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” her collaboration with Freshlyground that’s connected to the 2010 string of games, advances more than 15 spaces on the Official Streaming chart. The former global smash jumps from No. 61 to No. 45, establishing a new all-time high on the roster.
“Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” also rises on the Official Singles, Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, where it appears at Nos. 26, 39 and 36, respectively.
