Shakira has been a fixture on charts all around the world for a quarter-century, but the global superstar manages something this week that she has never accomplished before. “Dai Dai,” her collaboration with Burna Boy and the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becomes her first top 10 on one of the United Kingdom’s most competitive rankings.
The cut’s surge is tied to the excitement surrounding the World Cup, which has only intensified as the tournament progresses and England continued to perform well – although (spoiler!) that is no longer the case, as the national team was beaten only a short time ago. “Dai Dai” advances on three of the four charts where it appears, reaching new peaks on two of them and returning to a previously-established high on another.
Shakira Reaches the Streaming Chart’s Top 10 for the First Time
“Dai Dai” leaps from No. 21 to No. 7 on the Official Streaming chart. The tally ranks the songs that rack up the most audio streams in the U.K. across both subscription and ad-supported platforms, and it does not incorporate purchases. In its fourth frame on the 100-space list, “Dai Dai” bolts into the highest tier for the first time.
Shakira Had Already Hit the Top 40 With Multiple Singles
Shakira had sent five tunes to the Official Streaming chart before “Dai Dai” arrived, but none came close to reaching the top 10. Her previous best showing came thanks to “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” her collaboration with Bizarrap, which pushed to No. 26 in early 2023.
Only one other song by the Colombian superstar had previously cracked the top 40. “La La La,” a team-up with Carlinhos Brown, rose to No. 31 more than a decade ago. “Dai Dai” now stands almost 20 spaces above where both of those smashes peaked.
Shakira First Charted on the Streaming List in 2014
Shakira first appeared on the Official Streaming chart in July 2014, when two tracks debuted in the same week. “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” her duet with Rihanna, launched at No. 94, while “La La La” climbed much higher.
Half of Shakira’s six hits on the streaming-only ranking have debuted in 2026. “Zoo,” which she recorded for Zootopia 2, reached the roster in January and eventually pushed its way to No. 66. “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” with Freshlyground finally reached the tally in June, more than a decade and a half after it became a global hit, and now “Dai Dai” marks her third placement this year.
Burna Boy Has Already Scored Several Streaming Top 10s
While Shakira lands inside the streaming chart’s top 10 for the first time, Burna Boy has visited the region on several occasions. He nearly ruled the Official Streaming roster with “Own It,” his collaboration with Stormzy and Ed Sheeran, which stopped lifting at No. 2. The Nigerian musician also reached the highest tier with “Last Last,” which peaked at No. 4, and “Location” with Dave, which topped out at No. 10.
“Dai Dai” Nears the Main Songs Chart’s Top 10
“Dai Dai” also improves its standing and hits a new peak on the Official Singles chart, the main songs ranking in the U.K., which combines audio and video streams with downloads and purchases on physical formats. The track leaps from No. 18 to No. 13, putting Shakira and Burna Boy only a few spaces away from the top 10.

It has been more than a decade since one of Shakira’s newly-released singles climbed any higher. “Can’t Remember to Forget You” missed the top 10 by one rung when it peaked at No. 11 in early 2014.
“Dai Dai” Returns to Its Sales Peak
“Dai Dai” climbs on the U.K.’s Official Singles Sales chart as well, stepping up from No. 10 to No. 8. The World Cup anthem returns to its previously-established peak on the ranking, where it has now spent eight weeks.
The collaboration does slip on one purchase-focused roster – the only other tally in the U.K. where it can be found. “Dai Dai” falls from No. 5 to No. 7 on the Official Singles Downloads chart, after reaching as high as No. 4 earlier in its run.
“Waka Waka” Surges Alongside Shakira’s New Anthem
“Dai Dai” is not Shakira’s only World Cup hit growing in popularity throughout the U.K. “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” the official anthem connected to the 2010 tournament, rises on all four charts where it appears as excitement around the current competition continues to build as it nears its conclusion later this month.
The collaboration with Freshlyground moves up on the Official Singles, Official Streaming, Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts simultaneously.
