Netflix is bringing back the roast following the massive success of The Roast of Tom Brady, and this time, Kevin Hart is stepping into the hot seat. The comedian and actor will be roasted live during the upcoming comedy special hosted by Shane Gillis.
Airing live from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Netflix’s Tudum teased that Gillis “is no stranger to walking the tightrope between brutal and hilarious,” promising viewers a “full-blown cultural moment” packed with “hard-hitting jokes.” The event is part of Netflix Is A Joke Fest, the streamer’s week-long comedy festival running May 4 to May 10.
Hart’s roast follows the NFL star’s wildly successful 2024 special, which earned an Emmy nomination and drew more than 26 million views on Netflix as of March 2026, according to Variety. The comedy event also turned then-rising comedian Nikki Glaser into a household name.

The live roast is expected to last around three hours, until around 11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT. The Roast of Tom Brady also ran for about three hours.

The only confirmed participants so far are Hart and Gillis, according to Netflix. The streamer has not yet revealed the full roster of comedians and celebrities who will roast Hart. However, viewers can likely expect appearances from fellow comics, entertainers and surprise guests throughout the night.
