The Eagles Miss The Top 10 For The First Time On One Chart

Earlier this month, Rhino Records reissued the Eagles album One of These Nights. The expanded deluxe edition includes the original project, which helped turn the band into global superstars more than half a century ago thanks to several huge singles, as well as a complete live album that was recorded the same year that One of These Nights was shared with the public.

The set quickly became a bestseller all around the world – again, that is – and last week One of These Nights returned to the charts in the United Kingdom. As the project slips on multiple tallies, it debuts on another. The Eagles celebrate scoring a new win, but as the decades-old full-length arrives, it marks a new low for one of the most successful rock bands of all time.

The Eagles Debut One of These Nights on the Vinyl Chart

On this week’s Official Vinyl Albums chart, which ranks the bestselling projects of any genre available on wax throughout the U.K., One of These Nights launches at No. 26. That’s a notable placement for a collection that has been available for decades, but it pales in comparison to the group’s other wins.

The Eagles Miss the Top 10 for the First Time

One of These Nights is the first release by the Eagles to fail to crack the top 10 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart. It becomes the act’s third career placement on the format-specific tally, and both Hotel California and Hell Freezes Over – which debuted in 2015 and 2019, respectively – peaked at No. 10.

The Eagles Follow Basement, Muna and Westlife

It’s a very busy week on the Official Vinyl Albums chart, and 13 releases debut ahead of One of These Nights. The loftiest three spaces are occupied by new arrivals, with Is This How Happiness Feels? by Reverend and the Makers, Wired by Basement and 25 — The Ultimate Collection from Westlife opening at Nos. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Recently-shared full-lengths by artists such as Muna, Black Veil Brides and Stephen Sanchez also launch in more impressive positions than One of These Nights.

One of These Nights Falls on Several Charts in the U.K.

Last week, One of These Nights started on the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 21. It returned to the Official Physical Albums tally in that same position, and No. 21 stands as the highest that the Eagles set has ever climbed. This time around, One of These Nights descends to No. 43 on the list of the top-selling albums on any physical format in the U.K., and to No. 46 on the Official Albums Sales roster.

The Eagles Remain Stuck Behind Dolly Parton

As was the case last week, two titles by the Eagles appear on the U.K. charts, though the band does not double up on any ranking. Live From the Forum MMXVIII is once again steady in second place on the Official Country Compilations list. Only Dolly Parton’s The Very Best Of, which holds at No. 1, keeps the Eagles from flying back to the highest perch.

As it remains in first place, Parton’s The Very Best Of reaches 104 weeks – exactly two years – at No. 1 on the ranking of the bestselling compilations that can be classified specifically as country. The Eagles live project debuted in the top spot back in October 2020, and since then, it has racked up 41 stays in the penthouse.
