The 2026 FIFA World Cup is getting a star-studded kickoff. The tournament is hosting three opening ceremonies across Mexico, Canada and the United States, and each celebration will include performances from global artists, including Shakira, Burna Boy, Katy Perry, Future, Lisa, Alanis Morissette and more.
The celebrations begin in Mexico City on June 11 before moving to Toronto and Los Angeles the following day. In addition to airing live performances, each ceremony will showcase the culture, music and spirit of its host nation.
The three ceremonies will take place ahead of Group A matches. Mexico’s opening event will precede the tournament’s first game between Mexico and South Africa on June 11. On June 12, Toronto will host Canada’s opening ceremony before Canada takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina, while Los Angeles will stage the U.S. celebration ahead of the United States’ opening match against Paraguay.
From Grammy-winning musicians and international pop stars to actors, here are all the performers set to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup’s three opening ceremonies.
Who Is Performing At The 2026 World Cup Opening Ceremony In Mexico?

Shakira and Burna Boy are set to headline the inaugural World Cup celebration. The pair recently released “Dai Dai,” the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and will be joined by Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, Maná, Tyla and Ryan Castro.
Fernández will sing Mexico’s national anthem before the tournament’s opening match, while Tyla will perform South Africa’s national anthem.
Mexican-American actress and producer Salma Hayek Pinault was selected as the FIFA World Cup 2026 ambassador and will welcome soccer fans to Mexico City ahead of kickoff. Additionally, Ryan Castro will join J Balvin on stage for a “special performance,” according to FIFA.

Canada’s opening ceremony in Toronto will feature a lineup of Canadian and international talent, including Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé, Nora Fatehi, Sanjoy, Vegedream and William Prince.
Additional guests include actor Will Arnett and violinist Aleksandar Gajić. According to FIFA, the ceremony will celebrate Canada’s culture and diversity while connecting fans to the broader World Cup festivities taking place across North America.

Performing at the U.S. opening ceremony in Los Angeles are Anitta, Future, Katy Perry, Lisa and Rema, ahead of the U.S. Men’s National Team’s first match of the tournament.
Country duo Dan + Shay will give their rendition of the U.S. national anthem, while Paraguayan folk-pop group Purahei Soul will sing Paraguay’s national anthem ahead of kickoff.
Actor and comedian Jason Sudeikis, best known for his role in Ted Lasso, is also scheduled to appear as a FIFA World Cup 2026 ambassador and welcome fans to Los Angeles.
