WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV is the first major event since Backlash and the final stop before next week’s Clash in Italy PLE.
The latest Saturday special on Peacock features a number of top stars with a heavy focus on WWE’s talented women’s division. Of the five confirmed matches for the show’s card, three are women’s matches, and a total of 12 women will be wrestling in those bouts.
In addition, both the WWE World Tag Team Championship and Intercontinental Championship will be on the line as WWE heads to Fort Wayne, Indiana for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2026 Preview
Below is the confirmed match card for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event XLIV:
- WWE Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page
- World Tag Team Championship: The Vision (c) vs. The Street Profits
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Brie Bella and Paige vs. Lash Legend and Nia Jax
- Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley vs. B-Fab, Jade Cargill and Michin
- Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca
Here are some key facts and notes regarding the latest edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event:
- In April 2007, Santino Marella won the Intercontinental Championship on the same night he debuted. If Page wins the IC title on Saturday, he will be the second quickest to an IC title win after a main roster debut.
- The Street Profits last won a tag team championship in March 2025 when they defeated DIY to become the WWE Tag Team Champions.
- A returning Paige stepped in as a last-minute replacement for the injured Nikki Bella at WrestleMania 42 and won the tag titles alongside Brie after almost a decade away from WWE.
- Sol Ruca, a highly touted former NXT star, has yet to win a match on the main roster. She’s currently 0-2 since joining Raw. After some confusion about her WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event match with Lynch being an Intercontinental Championship bout, it’s since been confirmed that it will be a non-title match.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2026 Predictions
WWE Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) Vs. Ethan Page
Ethan Page just made his Raw debut on April 20, the night after WrestleMania 42, and his lightning quick rise to the top of the midcard has been very impressive.
In mere weeks, Page has easily acclimated to WWE’s main roster and demonstrated that he should have been there a long time ago. While Penta has been very good as champion and remains a wildly popular star, WWE desperately needs some fresh faces working on the cusp of the main event scene.
Page is exactly that, and an Intercontinental title win at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event would be a welcome change and, perhaps, a way to create a new star.
Prediction: Ethan Page
World Tag Team Championship: The Vision (c) vs. The Street Profits
After a lengthy absence from TV, The Street Profits returned to Raw the night after WrestleMania and haven’t missed a beat, instantly reestablishing themselves as one of WWE’s most beloved acts.
The Vision, however, is trending in the opposite direction. Paul Heyman’s stable doesn’t feel at all like a cohesive unit. Rather, it’s as if the faction is just a random assortment of stars who don’t quite fit together. The breakup of The Vision should happen sooner rather than later, but that remains to be seen.
Either way, not capitalizing on The Street Profits’ momentum with a title win at WWE SNME would be a big booking miscue, although it wouldn’t be shocking if a returning Bronson Reed helped The Vision retain.
Prediction: The Street Profits
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Brie Bella And Paige Vs. Lash Legend And Nia Jax
Because Paige stepped in as a late replacement for Nikki Bella, it wouldn’t be shocking if WWE put the titles right back on The Irresistible Forces.
One potential scenario is for Nikki to return and cost Paige the match, ultimately returning to her heel roots in the process alongside Brie. But with no definitive word on whether or not Nikki is ready to come back, the safer pick is Brie and Page retaining the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
After all, what’s the point of taking the titles off Lash Legend and Nia Jax just to put the belts right back on them?
Prediction: Brie Bella and Paige
Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair And Rhea Ripley Vs. B-Fab, Jade Cargill And Michin
WWE confirmed on SmackDown that Clash in Italy will feature a WrestleMania rematch between Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley.
That means that Cargill, after losing to Ripley at WrestleMania, really needs to pick up a win to regain her pre-WrestleMania momentum. That is likely the main purpose of this match here: Cargill can beat Ripley’s team without actually having to pin Ripley herself.
The most likely outcome at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is Cargill pinning Bliss, the least pushed singles star of the babyface trio.
Prediction: Cargill, B-Fab and Michin
Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca
The booking of Sol Ruca on the main roster so far has been somewhat strange. As noted, she hasn’t won a match and hasn’t been pushed as strongly as some of the other recent NXT call-ups.
Ruca, however, is a wildly talented star who still seems to have a bright future in WWE. There is no better way to elevate her up the card than a lengthy feud with Lynch. Thus, it’s likely that when Ruca and Lynch face off at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, it won’t be the last time.
WWE has two clear options here: Lynch cheats to win, or Ruca sneaks by with a close win, perhaps with a creative pin. Let’s go with the latter given the non-title nature of the match.
Prediction: Sol Ruca
