Wyndham Clark Continues Tremendous Season After BMW Championship Win

The 2026 PGA Tour season is coming to a close after the BMW Championship with only the Tour Championship remaining at East Lake next week. During the lead-up to the BMW Championship there was a debate among players and media as to who would be the Player of the Year?

Most assumed it would be Scottie Scheffler, even though he only had two wins this season, with no major championships among those two victories. Some brought up other names, but a name which should be considered is Wyndham Clark.

Clark, has won three tournaments this season, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, the U.S. Open, and now the BMW Championship. Clark might not have the career resume as Scheffler, but he certainly has had a season to remember.

Sunday at the BMW Championship Clark held a five-shot lead in the final day, but saw his advantage evaporate as Rory McIlroy made enough putts to tie Clark with seven holes left to play.

Rory’s putter turned cold, and back-to-back birdies sealed the three shot victory for Clark, with a final score of 17 under par.

Time to review our picks and predictions from the BMW Championship.

Let’s take a look at who was projected to be contending, based on pre-tournament odds.

2026 BMW Championship Odds

  • Scottie Scheffler (+310)
  • Rory McIlroy (+1275)
  • Xander Schauffele (+1650)
  • Ludvig Aberg (+1700)
  • Sam Burns (+1750)

When it comes to picks for this event, I’d start with my favorite and long shot picks. The favorite pick is the winner pick I like the most. For the long shot winner, that is a golfer who has over +2000 odds to win. It is a long shot pick for a reason, and finding those can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Here are my favorite and long shot picks for the 2026 BMW Championship:

Favorite: Cameron Young (+1750) – MISS

Long Shot: Wyndham Clark (+3300) – HIT

This was a difficult tournament to predict, and I am proud to say I have finally gotten a long shot pick correct. Sadly, it was my only correct pick of the tournament.

Nonetheless, seeing Cameron Young continue to struggle with a T37 finish was tough to watch, but I was shocked at the odds Clark was getting in this limited field event.

Clark has been one of the best golfers on tour the second half of the season, and at +3300 it is a hefty pay out for those who put even a few dollars on Clark to be the outright winner.

Top 5 Bets For The BMW Championship 2026

  • Matt Fitzpatrick (+345) – MISS
  • Scottie Scheffler (-162) – MISS

Matt Fitzpatrick has never been able to regain his form from earlier in the year, and his T28 finish was not close to the Top 5 prediction we had for him.

As for Scheffler, he was ill for the majority of the week, reportedly battling hand, foot, and mouth disease, and he still was able to muster a T12 finish. Scheffler said he would have withdrew from the tournament if it weren’t for it being the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Top 10 Picks For The BMW Championship 2026

  • Tommy Fleetwood (+128) – MISS
  • Hideki Matsuyama (+168) – MISS

Tommy Fleetwood won the Tour Championship last year, but he seems to be struggling heading into the event this season. Fleetwood finished the BMW Championship T47, and in a field out of 50 golfers.

Matsuyama had been playing inspired golf the past month, but his T28 finish wasn’t even good enough to cash a Top 20 pick, let alone a Top 10 pick.

Top 20 Value Picks For The BMW Championship 2026

  • Justin Rose (+120) – MISS
  • Ryan Fox (+186) – MISS

Justin Rose finished T22, just outside the Top 20 realm we predicted, and his game continues to be inconsistent since winning early in the 2026 schedule.

As for Ryan Fox, the Open Championship hangover is real, and Fox seems to have fallen victim to the aforementioned fatigue. Fox finished T47, again out of 50 golfers, and a far cry away from the Top 20 prediction.

Best Prop Bets, Parlays And Bonus Plays For The 2026 BMW Championship

For bonus plays, these are picks which I don’t necessarily hang my hat on, but still provide value for some who want more exotic plays outside of the aforementioned picks. Sometimes bonus plays are parlays, double chances, triple chances, and even some fun plays for that particular event.

Here are the bonus plays for the 2026 BMW Championship:

Double Chance: Scottie Scheffler or Cameron Young (+250) – MISS

Triple Chance: Scottie Scheffler / Xander Schauffele / Matt Fitzpatrick (+198) – MISS

Margin of Victory: 2 Shots (+355) – MISS

Tournament Review:

Outright Plays: 1/8

Bonus Plays: 0/3
