Zendaya And Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Drama’ Gets Streaming Date, Report Says

The Drama, a dark romantic comedy starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, is reportedly coming soon to digital streaming.

Rated R, The Drama opened in theaters nationwide on April 3. In the film, Zendaya and Pattinson play Emma and Charlie, a happily engaged couple whose wedding week is thrown into chaos when Emma reveals an unnerving dark secret from her past.

Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario), The Drama also stars Alana Haim (Licorice Pizza, One Battle After Another), Mamoudou Athie (Jurassic World: Dominion) and Hailey Benton Gates (Marty Supreme).

The Drama is set to be released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, May 5, according to When to Stream. While When to Stream is typically accurate with its PVOD reports, the streaming tracker noted that The Drama’s studio, A24, has not announced or confirmed the release date and it is subject to change.

When The Drama arrives on PVOD, it will be available to purchase for $24.99 on several digital platforms including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube Movies & TV. Since digital rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, viewers should be able to rent the film for $19.99 for 48 hours.

How Did Audiences And Critics Receive ‘The Drama’?

The Drama has to date earned $39.6 million in North America ticket sales and $31.6 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $71.3 million.

The Drama has earned a 77% “fresh” critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer based on 252 reviews.

RT’s Critics Consensus for the film reads, “Flirting with complex themes, The Drama walks a tonal tightrope with impressive poise thanks to career-highlight performances by Robert Pattinson and Zendaya.”

In addition, The Drama earned a 78% “fresh” Popcornmeter score based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings. RT’s Audience Summary for the film reads, “Elevated by remarkable performances, The Drama wrestles with questions of trust and forgiveness, drawing out profoundly uncomfortable emotions that linger long after the credits roll.”

The Drama, which is still playing in theaters nationwide, will reportedly arrive on PVOD on May 5.
