The Rolling Stones And Fleetwood Mac’s Shared Chart Record Has Been Passed

For the second week in a row, Drake’s Iceman rules the Billboard 200. The set is one of three the rapper dropped last month, though until only a few hours before the trio arrived, the world only knew about Iceman. Drake had been promoting the project for months, and when it finally became available to purchase and stream – the vast majority of listeners chose to consume it on platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify – the Canadian talent also delivered Habibti and Maid of Honour.

Last week, Drake became the first artist in American history to fill the highest three slots on the Billboard 200, the all-encompassing ranking of the most successful albums in the nation, as Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour debuted at Nos. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. The latter two titles drop this period – but manage to find space within the top 10 once more – while Iceman refuses to budge.

As he earns another stay inside the Billboard 200’s penthouse, Drake advances again on the list of musical acts that have spent the most time at the chart’s summit. He breaks a tie with two legendary bands and matches one of the most successful solo male artists ever.

Drake’s Iceman Holds at No. 1 for a Second Week

As Iceman holds onto its control of the Billboard 200, Drake earns his thirty-ninth week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He is now tied with Elton John for the tenth-most frames ruling the most competitive albums chart in history, according to the chart company.

If the hip-hop powerhouse can keep Iceman where it is for a third stint, whether next week or in the near future, he will pass the piano player and establish a new match with Adele. The British singer-songwriter has thus far spent 40 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. More than half of all of those frames, 24 in total, came thanks to her breakout success 21.

Drake Passes Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones

When Iceman launched in first place on the Billboard 200, Drake pushed past Harry Belafonte and the Monkees. Both of those musical acts racked up 37 turns at No. 1 during their heydays. Drake also formed a new tie with both Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones, which claim 38 frames at the summit apiece – one which only lasted a few days.

The Beatles Continue to Lead the Way

So far, only one musical act has claimed triple-digit weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and the Beatles may hold on to the all-time record for a long time, as it will be years before any act comes close to matching the Fab Four’s 132 weeks at No. 1. Taylor Swift may soon join the group as the only artist with 100 weeks or more on the throne, as she’s currently up to 98.

Between those two superstars and both Drake and John come Elvis Presley (67 weeks), Garth Brooks (52), Michael Jackson (51), the Kingston Trio (46), Whitney Houston (also 46), Morgan Wallen (42) and the aforementioned Adele with an even 40.

Drake and Taylor Swift Share a Record

Drake is tied with Taylor Swift when it comes to the most No. 1s on the Billboard 200. The two soloists have both sent 15 projects to the peak position, and they trail only the Beatles, with 19. Iceman is one of only half a dozen of Drake’s 15 leaders that have managed more than one moment at No. 1, as most of his full-lengths launch at the summit and then quickly descend. His most successful – and only double-digit-week winner – is Views, which spent 13 weeks in the top spot.
