AC/DC has reached No. 1 on all of Billboard’s hard rock charts throughout the years. The Australian outfit has sent numerous tunes and full-lengths to the summit on lists focused solely on hard rock consumption — whether via sales, streams, or general audience activity. This week, the band nearly returns to the peak position on several tallies in the United States, thanks to one of its most memorable cuts, which narrowly misses the throne by just one space on multiple lists at the same time.

“Thunderstruck” Misses No. 1 by One Space

AC/DC remains at No. 2 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales chart this frame with “Thunderstruck,” which is unmoved from its position last week. Just days ago, Disturbed’s cover of “The Sound of Silence” ruled the list, but that reworking of the Simon & Garfunkel classic dips to No. 3 this time around. The latest single by Foo Fighters, “Today’s Song,” opens in first place.

A Streaming Smash Once More

“Thunderstruck” also settles at No. 2 on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs ranking. On that roster, the beloved tune shifts one space to No. 3, swapping spots with “One Last Breath” by Creed. Meanwhile, “In the End” by Linkin Park runs the show yet again, earning its thirteenth week at No. 1 on the list of the most-played hard rock tracks on streaming platforms in America.

AC/DC’s Hit Climbs on All Three U.S. Charts

“Thunderstruck” is on the rise across all three U.S. rankings on which it appears. In addition to sitting at No. 2 on both the Hard Rock Streaming Songs and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts, AC/DC also returns to the top 10 on the all-genre Rock Digital Song Sales list as “Thunderstruck” bolts from No. 14 to No. 9. Unlike on the hard rock-exclusive tallies, “Thunderstruck” has only peaked at No. 2 on the broader purchase-only ranking, never quite managing to run the show.

AC/DC Scores Multiple Streaming Hits at Once

AC/DC fills only one spot on both the Rock Digital Song Sales and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales charts, but the group occupies three spaces on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs tally. “Thunderstruck” lifts, “You Shook Me All Night Long” advances four rungs to No. 20, and “Back in Black” holds steady at No. 22.
