On most charts Drake is only competing with himself in many respects. The Canadian rapper has scored more hits, more top 10s and more No. 1s than any other artist on many of Billboard’s tallies, especially those focused on hip-hop and rap music.

Earlier this year, Drake delivered three albums at once: Iceman, Maid of Honour and Habibti. The sets debuted simultaneously atop the Billboard 200, making him the first musician to occupy the ranking’s highest three spaces at once. Months later, Drake continues to promote the full-lengths, with several singles being pushed to radio simultaneously. On one airplay roster, he scores a new No. 1 by trading one champion for another.

Drake Reaches No. 1 With “2 Hard 4 the Radio”

“2 Hard 4 the Radio” surges from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart, reaching the summit eight weeks into its run. The ironically-titled smash ranks as one of several current Drake singles that are on the rise on a number of radio tallies in the United States. The Rhythmic Airplay chart tracks the songs that earn the largest total audience impressions on stations that focus on rhythmic music, which generally blends hip-hop and R&B and occasionally incorporates pop and dance sounds.

Drake Replaces Himself at No. 1

As “2 Hard 4 the Radio” takes control of the Rhythmic Airplay ranking, “Janice STFU” steps down to second place. That single reached the summit earlier this month and spent two frames running the show. Now, Drake replaces himself in the uppermost rung.

The rapper occupies the chart’s two highest positions this week, and a third current hit is also on the rise. “Shabang” advances from No. 18 to a new peak of No. 14 in its fourth period on the roster. It may be only another frame or so before it cracks the top 10, becoming his eighty-second appearance inside that tier.

Drake Scores His Milestone Forty-Fifth No. 1

“2 Hard 4 the Radio” gives Drake his forty-fifth No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart. He is the first artist to reach that milestone. I fact, no other musician has even collected 20 champions on the radio roster.

Rihanna sits in a distant second place on the all-time ranking with 17 rulers. The Weeknd and Chris Brown are tied for the third-most No. 1s, with 16 apiece. Drake leads his closest competitor by dozens of rulers.

“2 Hard 4 the Radio” Reaches New Peaks on Five Charts

“2 Hard 4 the Radio” rises to a new high on five Billboard charts this week, with all of those improvements taking place on radio-focused rankings. In addition to conquering the Rhythmic Airplay list, the track breaks into the top 10 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart for the first time, pushing from No. 11 to No. 9.

The hit becomes Drake’s ninety-third top 10 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay roster. “Janice STFU” also establishes a new peak on the same tally, rising from No. 4 to No. 2, while “Shabang” improves three spaces to No. 15.

Drake Nearly Claims Another R&B/Hip-Hop Top 10

On the broader R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, “2 Hard 4 the Radio” ascends from No. 14 to No. 11. It sits only one rung outside the top 10 and it will almost certainly enter that region shortly.

The single also climbs from No. 5 to No. 4 on the Rap Airplay ranking, where it may soon give Drake yet another No. 1. “Shabang” reaches a new peak on that tally as well, lifting from No. 10 to No. 8.

Three Drake Singles Rise Across Billboard’s Radio Rankings

“2 Hard 4 the Radio” manages a major jump on the all-genre Radio Songs chart, bounding from No. 40 to No. 37, which now stands as its new peak. “Janice STFU” simultaneously returns to its previously-established No. 23 high point on the same roster.
