Ella Langley Blocks Herself From Several New No. 1 Hits

Ella Langley’s performance on this week’s Billboard chart proves that she’s not just a country hitmaker or an exciting new name in the music business, but a certified superstar. The singer-songwriter’s sophomore full-length Dandelion debuts atop the Billboard 200, earning the rising talent her first leader on only her second try. The chart company recently announced that Dandelion will hold atop the most competitive albums roster for a second frame.

As Dandelion opens at No. 1 on several rankings, Langley invades Billboard’s country charts with multiple singles pushed from the project before it arrived in full, as well as a number of new arrivals. As has been the case for several weeks now, Langley blocks herself from a new champion on a handful of lists, though which tune sits in second place is not the same across every tally.

“Choosin’ Texas” and “Be Her” Sit at Nos. 1 and 2

On three Billboard lists — the Streaming Songs, Hot Country Songs, and Country Streaming Songs charts — Langley appears at least at Nos. 1 and 2, and in some instances, her streak continues for several more spots. On that trio of rundowns, “Choosin’ Texas” is steady at No. 1, while “Be Her” is comfortable once more at No. 2. For the entirety of its two-month run on at least a few of those registers, “Be Her” has never managed to soar to the summit, as the unbeatable “Choosin’ Texas” has proved simply too popular to topple.

Ella Langley’s “Bottom of Your Boots” Debuts at No. 2

On the Country Digital Song Sales chart, Langley also settles into the highest two rungs, although “Be Her” is no longer comfortable at No. 2. “Choosin’ Texas” is once again the bestselling country track on storefronts like iTunes and Amazon in America, and she keeps herself from another top performer.

“Bottom of Your Boots,” a standout tune from Dandelion, launches in the runner-up spot on the purchase-only rundown. Last week, “Be Her” did rank at No. 2, but this time around, it falls to No. 5, with hits by Cameron Whitcomb and Luke Combs separating Langley’s smashes.

Ella Langley Nearly Matches Morgan Wallen’s Chart Feat

Langley made history last week when she became the first country musician to occupy the highest two spots on the Streaming Songs chart, which is not centered around just one style. She holds that honor for a second consecutive period, and if she can manage it once more, she will join Morgan Wallen as the only artists typically associated with country to sit at Nos. 1 and 2 simultaneously in three separate chart weeks.

Both “Loving Life Again” and “Bottom of Your Boots” Rise

On three of the four aforementioned rankings, Langley’s run ends at No. 2. She manages to fill many spaces on the tallies, though not all in a row. When it comes to the Country Streaming Songs chart, however, Langley occupies the loftiest four spaces with a quartet of cuts that all appear as high as they’ve ever soared.

As previously mentioned, “Choosin’ Texas” leads the way, while “Be Her” keeps at its peak of No. 2. “Loving Life Again,” which was released shortly before Dandelion, improves to No. 3, which now stands as its most impressive position yet. “Bottom of Your Boots” marks the highest-ranking debut this frame as it starts at No. 4.

Langley almost fills the full top five, but Dandelion cut “Combs Is Be By You” slips from No. 2 to No. 6, keeping her from that specific form of domination.
