The Hall-of-Famer, Manny Pacquiao is back in the ring tonight and I’ve got live updates throughout the stacked card at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

The latest updates will be here.

Figueroa vs. Gonzalez is underway…

8:24 pm ET: Gonzalez might be up two rounds. He’s landing the cleaner combinations and offering the best defensively.

8:21 pm ET: This fight is a brawl. They are banging. Body shots and combinations galore. Gonzalez did very well in the first round and he is dragging Figueroa into a battle. This could be the best action of the night, and that’s no slight at the rest of the card.

Here is a look at the entire PPV card and it is loaded.

  • Manny Pacquiao vs. Mario Barrios; for Barrios’ WBC welterweight title
  • Sebastian Fundora vs. Tim Tszyu; for Fundora’s WBC super welterweight title
  • Isaac Cruz vs. Omar Salcido; super lightweight
  • Brandon Figueroa vs. Joet Gonzalez; featherweight

Once the action begins, I’ll have regular updates for all fights. I’ll begin round-by-round scoring during the do-main event between Fundora and Tszyu.

Pacquiao, 46, has made the rounds with the media and even discussed a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. That suggests he might be looking to fight for more than one bout.

We’ll have to wait to see how his evening goes with Barrios. If Pacquiao wins, he’d obviously be the new WBC welterweight champion. There will undoubtedly be a long line of fighters lining up to get a shot at the legend and the payday that comes with it.

Barrios will have a lot to say about that.

The 30-year-old is expected to win, though he has to fill a little overlooked and even disrespected during this build. Almost no one is talking about him and that should serve as motivation.

What’s wild is that Barrios is actually the defending champ here—and yet all the headlines are about the guy challenging him. The guy happens to be an all-time great with one of the most loyal and massive fanbases in boxing history.

Still, that can create a dangerous dynamic. Barrios isn’t just fighting for a belt tonight, he’s fighting for relevance in a sport that quickly forgets the quiet names. If he puts Pacquiao away in convincing fashion, it could change his trajectory overnight. Even though most expect Barrios to win (after all, he is 16 years younger than Pacquiao). This is still his chance to flip the script.
