Free Speech Under Siege: Israel’s Attempt to Silence Australia’s http://FreeSpeechSummit.com.au Backfires as Event Carries On

Gold Coast, Queensland – July 20, 2025

In a shocking turn of events that has reignited national and international debate around foreign interference, censorship, and the sanctity of free speech, the Free Speech Summit — hosted by Australian National Review and http://FreeSpeechSummit.com.au — faced extreme last-minute hurdles in its attempt to bring together independent voices from around the world.

Originally scheduled to take place at the prestigious Star Casino Theatre on the Gold Coast, the 2,000-seat venue abruptly canceled the event just days before commencement. Approximately 1,900 ticket holders were turned away, with accommodation arrangements at the venue thrown into chaos. The reason? Pressure from Israeli lobbyists and activists, who allegedly demanded the venue pull out or face backlash. Organizers were forced to scramble, ultimately relocating to a smaller, undisclosed venue under heightened security and with support from Queensland Police.

This coordinated effort to shut down a lawful public event — one dedicated to the very principles of democratic discourse — has raised serious concerns about the extent to which foreign influence can shape domestic Australian affairs. But it doesn’t stop there.

Multiple American speakers — scheduled to appear and already reimbursed for flights — had their visas revoked at the last minute by the Australian Government, under apparent influence from the Israeli Government and its activist arms. One speaker, who has an Australian wife and regularly resides part-time in the country, was banned from re-entering Australia simply for participating in the Summit.

Only one American speaker, Steve Kirsch, a former tech entrepreneur turned vocal critic of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, was permitted to enter the country. Kirsch has become a leading voice questioning vaccine safety, backed by growing data on excess mortality globally. He spoke powerfully at the Summit and was awarded an Independent Media Award during last night’s gala for his courageous reporting. His acceptance speech was a highlight of the evening and emphasized the urgent need for free and open discussion on matters that mainstream outlets refuse to touch.

Despite the relentless efforts to derail it, the Free Speech Summit is proceeding, albeit under intense pressure and surveillance. The irony is stark: an event titled the Free Speech Summit is being actively censored and sabotaged, not by domestic opposition, but seemingly at the behest of a foreign government — Israel.

This raises the unavoidable question: Why is Israel, of all nations, the only one attempting to suppress a free speech summit in Australia? What are they so afraid the public might hear? And why are Australian authorities enabling this suppression on their own soil?

The attempt to intimidate speakers, silence attendees, and cancel venues has not gone unnoticed. If anything, it has amplified public awareness, sparking deeper questions about Australia’s sovereignty, foreign lobbying power, and the future of free speech in a so-called democratic society.

As the Summit concludes its final day today, it stands not just as an event, but as a symbolic frontline in the global battle for free expression. The public is now watching — and more people are asking: Who really controls the narrative in Australia?
