Ringo Starr Misses Hitting No. 1 On Two Charts As Two Stars Block Him

After the breakup of The Beatles, all four members — Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr — enjoyed success as soloists. Some of them formed other groups, but most largely relied on their talents and fame to carry them back onto the charts with singles and albums.

Both McCartney and Starr, the two remaining members of The Beatles, continue to produce new work to this day, and their fan bases have not diminished much in the decades since the most famous split in music history. Recently, Starr has been exploring both Americana and country sounds, and he reaches two charts in the United Kingdom that focus on those styles with his latest album. The multi-instrumentalist sees Long Long Road miss the summit on a pair of rosters, but interestingly, it is not the same project that keeps him from hitting No. 1.

Ringo Starr’s Long Long Road Debuts At No. 2

Long Long Road debuts on seven different rosters in the U.K. this week, and it starts at No. 2 on two of them. Starr’s latest full-length arrives in second place on both the Official Americana and Official Country Artists Albums charts simultaneously.

Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide Rules the Americana List

On the Official Americana chart, which details the bestselling full-lengths and EPs in that one style, Noah Kahan rules. His latest, The Great Divide, earns him his second leader after his breakout Stick Season. That set brought him to the Official Americana ranking for the first time in October 2022, and in the two years it has spent on the list – it reaches that milestone this frame at the same time that The Great Divide debuts – Stick Season has spent 53 stints, or just over a year, running the show.

Ella Langley’s Dandelion Keeps Ringo Starr From No. 1

On the Official Country Artists Albums chart, Ella Langley is in charge once again with Dandelion. That studio effort has been powered largely by its lead single “Choosin’ Texas,” which has completely changed the singer’s career and turned her into something of a global star. Dandelion debuted at No. 1 in mid-April and has not stepped aside yet.

Ringo Starr Earned His First Hit Only About a Year Ago

A little over a year ago, in January 2025, Starr ranked on both the Official Americana and Official Country Artists Albums charts for the first time in his career. His first full-length that could be classified under both of those genre labels, Look Up, reached No. 1 on the two rosters. Look Up only spent one frame ruling the Americana rundown, but a month in charge of the Official Country Artists Albums roster.

Look Up Reappears Alongside Long Long Road

Starr doubles up on one of those two tallies. As Long Long Road opens at No. 2 on the Official Americana chart, Look Upreturns at No. 40. The former Beatle nearly bookends the tally, and he’d have managed that feat if his latest had launched at the summit.

Ringo Starr’s New Album Starts Inside the Top 10 Elsewhere

Long Long Road gets off to a top 10 start on another two U.K.-based rankings. The set debuts at No. 8 on both the Official Album Sales and Official Physical Albums charts at the same time. In both instances, Starr doubles his total number of appearances within that region, as Look Up brought him to the tier for the first time a little over a year ago.

Long Long Road Reaches the Official Albums Chart

Long Long Road comes close to the top 10, but instead settles for a top 20 beginning on both the Official Vinyl Albums and Official Album Downloads charts, where it enters at Nos. 16 and 18, respectively. Starr is back on the Official Albums list, which looks at the most-consumed collections regardless of length, format, or genre, as Long Long Road gallops to a No. 85 entry.
