While we know a list of actors who have joined The Batman Part II, finally filming, finally with a release date that hopefully sticks (February 18, 2028), who those actors are playing has yet to be confirmed. Well, until now, in one case.
In a new interview with French outlet Le Journal du Dimanche, Sebastian Stan confirms once and for all that he is playing Harvey Dent in The Batman Part II, ending speculation that he either had that part or instead, serial killer Victor Zsasz, theorized when Stan was spotted with a shaved head. Here’s what he told the outlet, bringing up The Batman: Part II while talking about Avengers: Doomsday:
We were just shooting scattered scenes [in Doomsday]. It’s a different way of working, continuous, constantly evolving. The producers didn’t want us to read it in its entirety, to avoid journalists asking us questions. I’ve been following this rule for fifteen years, I’m used to it. I also can’t say anything about The Batman: Part II , by Matt Reeves, where I play Harvey Dent. The beauty of this profession also lies in participating in projects of this scale, which I love as a viewer.”

Other actors have been confirmed for the project. One, Game of Thrones’ Charles Dance, is rumored to be Dent’s father, Christopher Dent. Bryan Tyree Henry may be playing the film’s second Harvey, Detective Harvey Bullock. One of the most eyebrow-raising rumors is that Scarlett Johansson will be the film’s main villain, playing a Matt Reeves-ified version of Poison Ivy.
But now Stan is the only confirmed role, given that it’s from the man himself. Past actors who have portrayed Harvey Dent/Two-Face are Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight, Nicholas D’Agosto in Gotham and Tommy Lee Jones in Batman Forever. In animation, Two-Face has been voiced by Billy Dee Williams, Misha Collins, Richard Moll, Troy Baker, Neil Patrick Harris, James Remar, Christopher McDonald and Diedrich Bader, among others, over the years.
The obvious notion here is that Dent will become Two-Face over the course of the film. There are various iterations of how Dent becomes Two-Face, including an acid attack, a chemical explosion, and an explosion in The Dark Knight. It is possible this doesn’t happen, and Reeves might be saving that for a third film, but it’s a little hard to imagine he would include Dent just to have him as a DA. That said, Reeves often does the unexpected with his characters in this universe. We’ll find out in under two years when The Batman Part II is released, barring any further delays.
