Taylor Swift’s “Wish List” finally becomes a sales hit as it debuts on two charts, while both “Elizabeth Taylor” and “The Life of a Showgirl” reach new peaks. When Taylor Swift released her new album The Life of a Showgirl a little more than a month ago, she ensured a historic opening week sales by trying out a new marketing strategy. While fans could listen to the full-length on any streaming platform and then pick and choose their favorite tunes to put on replay, when it came to purchasing, that was not an option.
Swift only allowed the public to buy The Life of a Showgirl in full, instead of offering tunes a la carte, as is common practice on digital download storefronts like iTunes. It took weeks before even lead single “The Fate of Ophelia” was offered for sale as an individual cut, and then later, several other tracks from the same album also began selling well apart from the parent project.
This week in the U.K., Swift scores a new bestselling song, while several tunes taken from her latest blockbuster rise to new peaks as purchases continue to grow.
“Wish List” Helps Taylor Swift Earn Another Bestseller
On both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads tallies, Swift earns a new win this period. “Wish List” arrives at No. 83 on the downloads-only chart and No. 92 on the general ranking of the bestselling tunes throughout the country. On both rosters, Swift long ago passed triple-digit placements.
Taylor Swift’s “Elizabeth Taylor” Hits Multiple New Peaks
“Elizabeth Taylor,” another fan favorite from The Life of a Showgirl, also improves its standing considerably. The track breaks back onto both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, earning just its second stay on both and hitting a new peak position on the rankings. “Elizabeth Taylor” comes in at No. 54 on the downloads list and No. 59 on the Official Singles Sales tally.
“The Life of a Showgirl” with Sabrina Carpenter Climbs Higher Than Ever
The album’s title track, a collaboration with fellow pop star Sabrina Carpenter, also improves its standing and reaches never-before-seen peaks. This period, “The Life of a Showgirl” shoots 40 spaces north to No. 55 on the Official Singles Downloads list. At the same time, it reenters the Official Singles Sales ranking at No. 61.

“Elizabeth Taylor,” “The Life of a Showgirl,” and “Wish List” also appear on the Official Streaming tally, and in wildly different positions. While “Wish List” sits in second-to-last place, at No. 99, “The Life of a Showgirl” holds on inside the top 40, dipping to No. 34. “Elizabeth Taylor” pushes back into the top 20, from No. 21 to No. 18. The latter cut is also still a top 10 success on the Official Singles chart, the main ranking of the most consumed songs in the nation.
“The Fate of Ophelia” Remains Taylor Swift’s Top Seller
As multiple songs from The Life of a Showgirl become bestsellers again, Swift claims the top performer in the U.K. “The Fate of Ophelia” sits in the highest space on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, and it returns to the peak position on the most important songs tally as well.
Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” and “Father Figure” Remain Big Hits as Well
Several other tracks from The Life of a Showgirl are also performing well, while six weeks into its lifespan on the U.K. charts, a number of other tunes have fallen away, seemingly having closed out their lifespan already.
“Opalite,” the second-most popular track from the project, appears inside the top 10 on all four rankings on which it can be found, growing only on the sales-focused tallies. “Father Figure” drops on the Official Streaming list, where Swift fills the greatest number of rungs at the moment.
The Life of a Showgirl Brings Taylor Swift Back to No. 1
Thanks in part to an uptick in purchases of multiple tunes featured on The Life of a Showgirl, as well as the album itself, the full length is a winner once more. Swift reconquers the Official Albums chart with her latest leader. The Life of a Showgirl can be found on half a dozen rosters in the U.K., and it is a top 10 success on all of them, improving on all but the Official Albums Streaming tally, where it is comfortable again at No. 2.
