Final Major League Pickleball Waiver Period Plus This Week’s Trade Analysis

As has become custom, I’m pulling out the trades and waiver moves from the main story recap for this weekend’s upcoming event to give them their due.

Here’s the official Major League Pickleball website links to cover these moves:

Here’s a list of the trades that went down this week, along with the last Waiver wire. I’ll add any additional trades made between this publishing and the 7/20/26 trade deadline to this post for official coverage, and then that should be the end of the transactions for the 2026 season.

  • On 7/13/26, Carolina and Phoenix flipped male role players: Carolina gets Wyatt Stone, while Phoenix gets Michael Loyd and cash. This is a curious trade between the two worst teams in the league. Phoenix has found some success with Truong and Chaffin, so Loyd presumably would be a singles specialist. Stone seems to go from one bench to another bench spot, which begs the question, why would Carolina send cash in this deal?
  • On 7/13/26, California sent Emma Nelson to Chicago in exchange for Jalina Ingram and cash. Chicago may be looking for a little more help so they’re depending on a 13-yr old Hendershot for everything, while California improves their bench a little bit and may slot Ingram into their regular rotation.
  • On 7/13/26: Florida sent Zoey Weil to California for Mya Bui and cash. Bui gets moved for the second time in a week and will step into Florida’s starting lineup, while Weil (who has played well lately) will pair with California’s Dennehy. This seems like a solid, progressive move for California, who may be looking at the table and saying to themselves, “Hey, we might be in this.”
  • On 7/14/26, Miami cashed in on its Dylan Frazier investment, sending him to California for Mohamed Anouar Braham and cash.

So, in just a couple of days, California has completely remade their starting roster, going from Delgado/Braham/Dennehy/Bui to now Tellez/Frazier/Dennehy/Weil . They also upgraded their bench female player, going from Kunimoto to Ingram. Dare I say it, is California pushing to be a playoff team? Tellez/Frazier is a legitimately professional doubles team and Dennehy/Weil can hold the line against other playoff contenders. California as we speak sits in 16th place but has only played two events: they’ll play in each of the 3 remaining events and needs to consistently get into the event 5th place match (meaning they finish 3rd in each group) to earn the points they need to jump into the top 12.

in 7/15/26’s Waiver period, we saw just one move.

  • Phoenix claimed Alli Phillips, dropped Hsiang (Albie) Wen-Huang. This is kind of a “shuffling the beach chairs” move, in that Phoenix has found decent success with its two female starters Walczak and Schull lately. Phillips was drafted earlier this year and got dropped, but now gets back to a team to provide some bench cover.

MLP initially had just one waiver period for the entire season (set to be on July 1st), then relented and increased it to the current four periods (they were 5/16/26, 6/2/26, 6/23/26, and 7/15/26). The first three periods were busy; perhaps they could get away with cutting the fourth since the league is 2/3rds of the way done and has pretty much settled personnel-wise.

Any trades between 7/15/26 and 7/20/26 will be tacked on the end of this post.

Play in San Diego for Week 7 of the league starts promptly at 1pm EDT on Thursday, 7/16/26.
